December 14th! The Redheaded Zombie Returns!

Prepare yourselves for a brand new show this December, featuring some show faves as well as new artists. The venue has changed this time around, but it’s still guaranteed to be the same awesome show you guys know and love. It’s free, all ages, and there will be delicious food and drink available just like usual and it’s all leading up to our big event in January 2013! Assuming the world doesn’t end first.

So come join us at 332 N. Tejon, Gold Hill Java, for the last Redheaded Zombie Show of the year!

Featuring:  Cliff Letters, The Spy, Summerhill, and A Bad Night For A Hero (and possibly more…)

I’ll keep you up to speed the closer we get!

Knight In Colors

FacebookBandcamp

A fresh new band, bringing this town the much needed grunge/ indie rock it deserves. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting these guys in person yet, but their demo sounds awesome and they’ve got a new ep in the works I’m excited to hear.                                                                                     These guys are working up quite a reputation with airplay on UCCS, being featured in the Indy, playing a sold out show with Claymore Disco, and they’ve got plenty of big shows coming up. Including opening for Desert Noises at the Black Sheep December 15th. Check em out!

Riki Takaoka – Freelance Illustrator

I had the pleasure of meeting this guy at the Toy and Comic Convention last week and I’ve gotta say he’s one of my favorite local artists right now. His style reminds me of Darwyn Cooke somewhat and it’s impressive to see what he can do with just a few sharpies. Dig It!

Briffaut is a local dream-pop supergroup from the springs and one of the bands performing under the Kings Of Space umbrella. I’ve seen these guys a couple times now, and they’re really starting to grow on me. If you’re interested, follow them on tumblr and check out lead singer, Daniel James Eaton’s song a day project. By the time you read this #335 should be underway.

What’s Up?

Well I haven’t been posting new content on the site as much as I’d like, but rest assured I’ve got plenty of it. I’m taking a new approach to the project and it’s taking me a little while to wrap my head around how things should work now. Once I’ve got it figured out I’ll definitely make sure you guys are on the same page.

Our second annual Halloween show was a blast (to my relief) and everything went surprisingly as I planned. We had alot of good musicians and some bands like Sonic Soma really stood out to the audience. So thanks to them and everyone else who performed on Saturday! I tried to get as much footage of the bands as possible, but somehow managed to miss recording the costume contest X^(
We did get some good stuff though.

Unfortunately I do have to admit this might be the last official show for awhile until I can get other aspects under control, but I’ll still be bringing you the latest on local artists and talent. So if you’ve got something to share or know someone who does, I’m happy to check it out, in person or otherwise.

I hope October has been going as well for all of you as it is for me.

See ya soon, C.J.

So speaking of our Halloween Show, we asked you guys out there to draw us up a flier for October, last month and I’m proud to say we have a winner! Joe Oliver gave us two submissions and they’re both fantastic pieces of art!
